Positive self-talk for the anxious

VERY helpful!

When feeling anxious, it is extremely easy for your mind to take over your whole body.

Just like when you’re sad and it causes you to cry… or angry and causes you to scream.

Anxiety seems to take over your mind and your “ability” to breathe.

While overcoming my anxiety obstacle, I’ve learned that talking myself through it really helped pass the time.

Saying things like:

I am okay.

Nothing bad is going to happen.

This is not an emergency.

It will pass.

It is only uncomfortable, like a headache.

This is not a life or death situation.

I will get through this.

Over and over until it passed.

My panic attacks usually lasted about 30 minutes or so.

They were SO much worse when I’d leave the situation…

Just stay where you are and talk to yourself.

If you run, it will come back.

IT WILL PASS.

    Have you read the book Self Talk Soul Talk? It was really a gift to my soul in teaching me how to talk to myself.
